Beverly Storrs Obituary

Beverly Bradshaw Storrs

Beverly Storrs, the matriarch of her family died peacefully surrounded by family members on December 3, 2013. Beverly was preceded in death by the love of her life, John Storrs her husband for 67 years.

Beverly was born to parents Nathanial and Paula Bradshaw at their home in Ballard October 12, 1929 and was one of four sisters and 4 brothers. She was a member of the Ballard High Class of 1947, and was an active member of their alumni group.

John and Beverly lived in their Shoreline home for over 60 years and raised their four children there. Beverly attended Shoreline Community College and took classes in Interior Design and Gemology. She was employed as a supervisor for General Telephone and together with her husband owned and operated Northwest Trailer Center in Shoreline and then in Lynnwood, Washington for years. After retirement they spent a number of years RVing with friends and spent winters in Mesa, Arizona. They enjoyed camping for many summers with family and friends, mainly at Sun Lakes and Lake Chelan in central Washington.

Beverly was the mother of four children all of whom currently reside in Washington: Gary Storrs of Carlton, Sherry Kisner, Pat Storrs and Penny Storrs Smith all of Shoreline. She has eleven grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

She was graceful, non judgmental and an inspiration to all. She will be sorely missed by the members of her family and her friends.

The family would like to thank Group Health Cooperative doctors, Denise Hastings, Lee Amsler and the Hospice team for their loving care.

The funeral will be held at Washelli Evergreen on Tuesday, December 10th at 2:00 p.m. Viewing on Monday 9 am to 8 pm. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Group Health Hospice Foundation.

Bev:

Not only will your memory live on for such a long, long time, the example you set as far as how to treat others, and the love you so freely gave to those who came into your life are both to be deeply admired.
Whenever I saw you, you always asked how I was, what I was doing in life. And you genuinely wanted to know.
A big hug to you! Betty White once said she wanted to be back with her husband because he knew the secret of what comes after. Now you're back with yours, and you know the secret, too!

Forever in my heart.

Words can not even begin to descried the deep sorrow I am experiencing with your loss GG. You were my best friend, an amzing grandmother and you will always be a "movie star" in my eyes! You taught me what it means to love and be loved. You taught me to be kind and find the good in every person, even if it is hard to do so. I am so thankful that I got to spend so much time with you, especially in the last 5 years. Caring for you these past few months has been the best gift I have ever received. I love you more than I could ever express. You are an inspiration to me, and so many others. I love you GG.
