Bronwen M. Nightingale-Daehnke

Bronwen Nightingale-Daehnke, age 62, passed away in Seattle on August 17, 2016 surrounded by loving family and friends, music and stories, laughter and tears.
Bronwen was a true original and touched so many lives. She was outspoken, wickedly funny and open and curious. She was a gifted story teller and fascinated with people and what made them tick.
She loved music, whether it was Aretha and Adele, Simon Garfunkel or Mozart and Handel. Every Christmas, she sang along with Handel's Messiah. She loved Mozart's Magic Flute (Die Zauberflte)..
She was always up for adventure. She loved sailing around the bays and inlets of Puget Sound and impromtu road trips.
She was active and sustained by the communities of the West Sound Corinthian Yacht Club in Port Orchard and the LDS Churches in Lakewood and Puyallup. She was active in the Pierce County Democratic Central Committee. She paid attention to politics. She advocated for fairness and made her voice heard.
Bronwen was born on her mother's birthday, May 7, 1954 in Seattle, Washington. She graduated from Kings Garden High in Shoreline WA and went on to attend Trinity Western University in Langley BC, Canada. For many years she owned and operated her own Employment Agency, Career Clinic.
She is survived by her loving husband, Henry L. Daehnke, Jr. of Lakewood. She is also survived by her sister Lorna Nightingale Williams (Albert Williams) of Kenmore, WA and Her sister Jennifer Nightingale (Holt Moore)of Astoria Ore, her brother, Scott Goodrich (Greg Phillips), her nephew, Ryan Ducey (Katie May Dixon) of Washington DC and childhood friend Beth Wallace of Framingham, MA.
She is survived as well by her sister-in-law, Kathleen Camp, Step-sons: Henry L. Daehnke, III, Eric Joseph Daehnke and Jason Tesa Daehnke, nieces and nephews - Nina Elliott, Shelly Reno and Bill Arnold.
She leaves behind numerous adoring cousins, dear family members and cherished friends as well as her beloved animal companions: Riley, Ivy & Pogo.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Patricia Merrick Nightingale, her father, William R. Nightingale, her cousins, Judy Nightingale, Richard (Dick) Nightingale, Tom (Laughing Bear) Heidlebaugh and Peter Harrison.
The family would like to thank Dr. Richard Kozarek of Virginia Mason for her care over many years. His care and support were instrumental in her ability to live a quality life with Crohn's Disease. We would also like to thank the Medical and Oncology team at Virginia Mason for her care for the last difficult weeks of her life.
