Bruce Allen Wilcox

Bruce Allen Wilcox age 65 of Bothell, passed away peacefully at home on August 8, 2014 due to the complications of Progressive Supranuclear Palsy.

Bruce was born in Seattle on May 19, 1949 to Harold J. and Mardelle A. Wilcox. Bruce grew up in Richmond Beach and graduated from Shoreline High School in 1967. He enlisted in the Navy and served several years in Rota, Spain and at Whidbey Island in the Naval Reserve. In 1977 he started his company Wilcox Contracting running a successful drywall business for 36 years.

In 1985 he married his wife Wendy and together they lived in Bothell raising two sons Brett and Eric. Bruce was an active member of the Bothell community coaching in both N. Bothell LL Baseball and Bothell Cougar Jr. Football programs. As a Boy Scout himself, he also was a Scout leader for both sons. Bruce loved the outdoors especially hunting, fishing, camping and snow skiing. He was a PSIA certified ski instructor at Stevens Pass. Bruce always said that working with kids would keep him young.

Bruce is survived by his wife of 29 years, Wendy; his two sons, Brett A. and Eric J. Wilcox; his mother Mardelle Wilcox; brother Marc Wilcox; sister Maureen (Paul) Hanson; in-laws Wally and Elsie Hageman; Kathy (Cory) Edmondson; Terry Hageman; Dean (Kathy) Hageman and numerous nieces and nephews. Bruce was preceded in death by his father Harold Wilcox.

Bruce made friends easily and was a great friend to many, always willing to lend a helping hand. His kind hearted spirit will remain forever in our hearts.

A Celebration of his life will be held on Wed., August 20, 2014 at 2:00pm at Richmond Beach Congregational Church, 1512 NW 195th St. in Shoreline. In lieu of flowers, Memorial gifts can be made to the EvergreenHealth Foundation, 12040 NE 128th St, MS 5, Kirkland, WA, 98034-3013.
