Catherine Boyce Obituary

Catherine "Cathie" Boyce

March 12, 1944 ~ May 28, 2014

Cathie was a beloved and devoted daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She started her journey in Denver, CO. The daughter of Leonard and Margaret Kramer. Cathie left her childhood home after high school to pursue Academics at Seattle Pacific University. She worked for Pacific Northwest Bell in the Building Engineers Group for 15 years where she met and fell in love with her husband Richard Boyce and his eight children.

In the eighties and nineties Cathie volunteered for Cancer Lifeline following her Father's death from Cancer where her love and devotion continued. Cathie also volunteered her unwavering energy to the University Lions Club Auction for several years where she became known as the Auction Lady. She worked at Display and Costume for 12 years retiring a few months before receiving her diagnosis of cancer in 2011. Cathie maintained her courage and dignity throughout her ordeal and through her final moments. Cathie passed away peacefully on May 28th at her home in Seattle, surrounded by loved ones.

She is survived by her loving husband Richard; eight children, Jeffrey (Mary), Paul, Kathryn, Patrick (Mary), Monica (Eli), Matthew, Michael (Kim) and Jennifer (Jeff); twelve grandchildren, and six great-granddaughters. Cathie always found time for friends and family and we will all miss her love, support, wisdom, humor and guidance.

There will be a Funeral Mass on June 14th at 11:00 a.m. at St. Barnabas Anglican Church, 2340 N. 155th St., Shoreline, WA 98133; (206)365-6565, followed by a reception at the Church. Please sign Cathie's online Guesbook at www.Legacy.com.

Cathie was such an amazing neighbor! She really forged our block in to a strong community, one in which we watch out and care for each other. She and Richard hosted many block parties at their home. What a wonderful legacy that is. She will be greatly, greatly missed.
