Charles BRENNER Born December 17, 1919 to Abraham Brenner and Bessie Rosenthal Brenner. Attended Garfield High School, graduated 1937. Served his country in WWII in the Army Medical Corp. Charlie's Unit landed at Omaha Beach on D-Day, liberated France, Northern Europe and fought in the Battle of the Bulge and other campaigns. Charlie was one of three co-owners of Brenner Brothers Bakery, Seattle's leading Bakery and Delicatessen. He and his brothers Joe and Itsey and sister Yetta Brenner satisfied Seattle's cravings for bagels, rye breads, and kosher meats for many years. Married to Lee Schlosser Brenner from 1950 until her death in 1969. Married to Beatrice Lentzer Gold Brenner from 1969 until her death in 1991. He is survived by their children Stephanie Gold Kirschenbaum (Larry), Darlene Gold Fague (Dennis), Paul Gold (Penny), Betsy Brenner (Steve Ostrofsky) and Alan Brenner (Lori Ward). Services will be held Friday, February 17 at 11:00 a.m. atHerzl Ner-Tamid Memorial Park 16500 Dayton Avenue North in Shoreline, WA. The family requests anyone interested in commemorating Charlie's life consider a contribution in his honor to Herzl-Ner Tamid Conservative Congregation, 3700 E. Mercer Way, Mercer Island, WA. 98040. I loved listening to Charlie's stories during the kiddush at Herzl. His life was colorful and he lived it to the fullest. I'm proud to have known him. I wish his family comfort at this time.

I worked for Charlie for many years at the Brenner Bros.bakery in Bellvue before the safe they would hide the money in paper sacks he managed the accounts and the trucks for delivering throughout the area I have fond memories of Charlie and he always pitched my cheeks My prayers to all his family

I will always remember Mr. Brenner handing me a small paper bag, with what I later learned was the days cash from the bakery to take to the bank. My thoughts are with the Brenner Family and Friends...
