Chermi Harlick Obituary

Chermi Lorraine Harlick

Chermi was born on the first day of Spring, 1970; the day the first daffodils bloomed. She was joyously welcomed as the first child of parents Michael and Cheryl. Chermi was a very happy and content baby who grew into a very happy child and young adult, comfortable and talkative with anyone who came into her life even if only as a seat mate for a bus ride. She enjoyed these bus encounters and brightened the day of many elderly riders. She was very giving with a smile as well as putting on fund raising events to help a person in need or a cause, and volunteered at a food bank.

Chermi attended John Rogers, Madrona Elementary schools, Meany Middle School and Nathan Hale High where she was an exchange student to Japan, and Shoreline Community College.

She sailed boats from dinghies to 40', painted, sang, was an avid crafter, the Seahawks best 12th Woman, loved movies and music, and read voraciously, and loved her niece and nephews. She traveled and immersed herself in various cultures. She visited Hawaii, Mexico and spent time in the United Kingdom. Her career choices were as varied as her interests. She worked as a Pharmacy Tech, manager of a retirement center, home care/companion, bartender, companion/assistant in IT, house caretaker, etc.

Chermi left us shortly before midnight, August, 25, 2014. She leaves behind her mother Cheryl, sister, Kristin, brother, Michael, Grandmother Judy, and nieces and nephews. She now joins her father Michael, aunts, uncles and grandparents.

Chermi was full of life. She was very talented! I remember the nights at Molly's karaoke and hang the picture she painted me of my brother, shortly after he passed away. I will cherish that forever as well as my memories of her. Bless you, Chermi!

Chermi made me feel protected and safe when I was being harassed by a tavern patron. I knew she had my back no matter what. I'll miss her smile and quick wit.

Chermi would always blow my mind with her way with animals. Any time I had my dogs with me I knew where to find her. Right there next to my truck talking to Douglas and Riley. Mind you, our dogs are very vocally protective of their truck, but I' d see 'Chermi the dog whisperer' there with their tails waggin and huge smiles on their faces. I'd just shake my head in disbelief and ask her how she does that. She replied "It's simple. I love animals and they love me."

There's nothing in this world that I will miss more than Chermi's laugh. The three wonderfully loud HA HA HA's would surround me like a group hug. Fortunately, I will always hear her when I read those terrific little words.. "HA HA HA!" That's quite a gift Miss Chermi! Thank you. I love you very much. - Barb

Chermi was such a wonderful, kind and beautiful soul...A songbird. I will never hear "Leather & Lace" and not think of you on that stage every Thursday. Im certain you're with Kevin now and keeping each other company. Thanks for all the fun times. You will be missed
