Chris MEBUST Born October 6, 1912 in Marietta, MN; died November 6, 2011 in Seattle. Survived by his children, Roger, Charlotte Lange (Jim), and Robert (Gay); his 7 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; brothers, Arnold Mebust (Tina), and Burdeen Mebust (Lorna); and their families. Preceded in death by his loving wife Evelyn, and daughter, Sandra. Chris' parents came to this country from Norway and had planned but barely missed their first choice of travel on the Titanic April of 1912. Chris farmed in the Midwest until 1940 before moving to the Northwest where he logged, worked for Boeing, and later for Hansen Masonry, where he worked until he was injured and disabled due to a jobsite accident in 1970. He later became known as the man who could fix anything, whether it was automotive, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, masonry or carpentry in nature. He did these things not for wages, but as a favor to those who needed help. One of his many good-samaritan gestures was making rolling-pins of many different materials and sizes that he donated to local nursing homes which they sold at their fund raising auctions and events. His favorite hobby and pass time was ocean salmon fishing from Westport WA. where he and Evelyn maintained a summer home & boat moorage for many years. Memorial services will be held at 1:00 PM, November 22, 2011 at the Bethel Lutheran Church of Shoreline. 17418 - 8th Ave. N. E., Shoreline, WA 98155 Please sign Chris' on-line Guest Book at www.Legacy.com. Hoffner Fisher & HarveyTo plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.

To the Family of Chris Mebust -
My husband and I went to Bethel Lutheran Church for 48 years, and we always enjoyed talking to him about our Norwegian heritage (Karol) and John, having been in the construction industry, talked "shop" with Chris. A wonderful person and a fine Christian.
