David William Cook

Dave was born in Seattle, Washington, to Harold and Marjorie Cook. He graduated from Roosevelt High School in 1959, and married Sandra Lynn Goett on September 19, 1963. Dave enjoyed working for the City of Seattle as a Shop Operations Supervisor of the City Light Garage and the Seattle Fire Garage for 38 years.

Dave loved being near the water. He spent many happy summers boating with his family and friends, in and around the Canadian Gulf Islands. Dave was an active amateur radio operator for 20 years, as a member of the Seattle Auxiliary Communications Services and the Puget Sound Repeater Group. He was a Trustee of Frihet Lodge #401, VASA Order of America, and a member of Calvin Presbyterian Church. Dave is survived by his wife Sandy, two sons, Jeff and Mark, daughter-in-law Kellee, grandchildren Joelle, Dawson and Asher, and his sister-in-law Terry Bursett, and brother-in-law Bob Barone, in addition to many nieces and nephews who were an important part of his life. Dave was preceded in death by his parents and sister Margaret (Martie) Barone. The family deeply appreciates Dr. Paul Gott, and the support and thoughtfulness of Group Health Hospice nurses Cheryl and Jan, and social worker Karen, as well as others who provided care.

A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, May 9, 2014, at Calvin Presbyterian Church, 18826 Third Avenue NW, Shoreline, WA 98177.

Remembrances may be made to the Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society (supports active and returning Navy and Marine veterans) Naval Base Kitsap Bangor, 1001 Tautog Kitsap-Bangor,Bldg.1001, Silverdale, WA. 98315, or the American Cancer Society.
