Dirk Haringa Obituary
Dirk E. HARINGA Dirk was born Sept. 9, 1969 in Seattle, WA. He passed away March 7, 2012 after suffering a heart attack the previous month. Dirk lived in Edmonds until graduating from Woodway High School where he was an athlete. He shared his childhood with one sister, Lisa McCaslin, who resides in Shoreline with Dirk's two nieces, Brianne and Meggan McCaslin. Dirk is also survived by his mother, Linda Elton of Edmonds, WA, his father Ronald Haringa in Seattle and a daughter, Chloe, in Lansing, Michigan. Dirk leaves many wonderful friends and peers at Polaris Manufacturing in Marysville where he was the Operations Manager. He loved the outdoors, boats, trucks and his two German Shepherds, Duke and Dutchess. Dirk was known for being able to fix "anything". He helped countless people with their cars, machinery and a few broken hearts. He will be missed by all of us. There will be a funeral service Sunday, March 25th, 2012 at4:00 p.m. at Calvin Presbyterian, 18826 3rd NW, Shoreline.To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.

It has been years since Dirk has passed. Memories big and small have crossed my mind over these years. Every time I start by thinking, wow I havent seen him in so long and quickly followed by the reality of him not being on this earth anymore. Dirk is not forgotten, memories will always bring him into our conversations for years to come. One. silly little thing that reminds me of a bike trip I took with Lisa and Dirk and family is that every time I eat clam chowder I remember that bike trip and how we put French fries into our chowder on the anacortes ferry ride. Yummy and super fun trip!

My heart breaks for all of Dirk's loved ones. I hadn't seen or spoken with Dirk since high school but always had such fond memories of him. He was always so sweet to me! Prayers of strength and love to his daughter, fiance and all family.

On the way to the service I stopped at Prosser's piano and found the most expensive grand piano in the house and played you a song. It was the soundtrack to the movie 'Braveheart'.

I am so very sorry for your loss, I know how it feels, and it is not easy, nor easy to get over. Please find peace in the fact that he was loved by many, and many will miss him. He certainly left an impression!! RIP Dirk.

Uncle dirk, You will be miss by your presious niece and newphew. They will miss all the good things you did for them! We are all very sad that this had to happen to you. It is hard to find the words to express how sad we are about Dirk's passing. We have gotten to know him over the last few years, especially this last year.....fishing, camping as well as taking him on his first hunting trip. We grew to love and appreciate Dirk as a person and as our granddaughter Angela's finance'. We were looking forward to welcoming him as our grandson. To Dirk's family, we are so very sorry for your loss, and are keeping you in our prayers.

I have livid with Dirk for the past 6 years as a roommate. I was there when everything happened. He was the closest thing I had to father he taught me so much and helped me through so much in my life. I will always remember him and everything he did.

Dirk always had an infectious smile and an easy laugh. It seemed we always had math class together beginning in 7th grade. He was a fun classmate but a better teammate. Too many years have passed since those cool spring WHS track days. But, I will never forget his Drago like appearance on our middle 80's team, He was a decathlete without the decathlon, he had big strides, worked hard, and was a competitor. I always appreciated how he pushed me to be better runner. Dirk and his family are in my thoughts.

I am so sorry to hear about this sad news, I kept in touch with Dirk mainly seeing him at the taste of edmonds but went to school with Dirk since 1st grade. He always had a smile on his face and was so easy to talk to. He wil be my thoughts and praryers, and I know he will make a big impression as he moves on to a better place!

Dirk and I were friends in high school and the early college years. We lost touch after that but reconnected in 2010. It was wonderful to get to know him again. He was still the fun-loving, sweetheart that we all knew back in the day. I was happy to see him again and learn about his life. I have so many memories of him that keep flooding back and make me smile. I hope his daughter can meet some of the people he knew to learn more about him. He will always be in my heart and thoughts.
