Doris Hoar Obituary
March 7, 1927 ~ March 4, 2015
Born and raised in Tacoma, resident of Seattle since 1948. Graduate of Stadium High School Class of '45, attended College of Puget Sound, (Pi Phi Sorority). Married to Dr. Roland Frank Hoar who preceded her in death after 49 years of marriage. She worked as a bank teller and then as the office manager of her husband's dental practice. She was a founding member of Sahalee Country Club, long time member of The Children's Orthopedic Guild, Washington Park Arboretum and University Dental Wives. She was also preceded in death by daughter Sandra Lee (1969) and is survived by daughters Susan Pool (Dennis), Linda Ikeda (Russel), son David Hoar; grandchildren Daniel Pool (Roberta Hunte), Sara Pool, Ryan Ikeda (Sara Hossaini), Tyler Ikeda (Soumiya Prakasm).
A celebration of her life at Shoreline Covenant Church, 1330 N. 185th St. Shoreline; Saturday, March 14 at 2:00pm. In lieu of flowers donations can be sent to: Saratoga Federated Church, (designate: Emmaus Ministries of Silicon Valley), Saratoga, CA, Empower International Ministries (www.empowerinternational.org), or Vision House (www.vision-house.org)

Susie, Linda and David ~ I was so saddened to hear of your Mom's passing. She and my Mom were such faithful longtime friends. I started to think about all the wonderful memories we had growing up and vacationing at Surrey Lake together. Your family was such a big part of my life for so many years. Your Mom was simply the best! Always sweet & cheerful. She was a joy to be around. Also the way she supported my Mom Joan, as she battled Alzheimer's meant the world to me. I already miss the lunches & dinners that we shared over the years.

So sorry to hear of Doris' passing. She was simply a wonderful woman. The way she continued her friendship with my Mom Joan when she was battling Alzheimer's meant the world to me. I will miss our many lunches & dinners together but cherish the happy memories.

Doris was a neighbor of ours. We miss her already. She was the first person to visit with us and welcome us to the neighborhood last summer. We enjoyed talking with her on her afternoon walks. She was a lovely lady.

Linda, Susan and David, I am so sorry for your loss. My mother, Jane Renard, always spoke so fondly of your mother.
