God bless my Great-Aunt Dorothy, and may she live forever in our hearts.
Most of my my memories with her were childhood memories where she often welcomed us lovingly to stay with her at her home on the lake.
I remember summer train rides so eager and excited to go stay with aunt Dorothy because time spent with her consisted of lots of fun, love, laughter, and lots of happy memories swimming!
I was blessed that she came to Portland to meet and hold my newborn daughter Sophia.
Much love, from your Great niece and Loretta's Granddaughter: Bedriya

It's a path we all have to take but the thing is what memories do we leave behind, aunt dorothy surely have left a lot of nice memories in people's minds I know she did to me even though I met very little with her but that was enough to feel her sweetness, kindness, and the love in her heart, may GOD bless her soul.

Summers with Aunt Dorothy were REAL summers to me<3 whenever we visited, my memories of those times were always spent in bathing suits. She always took us to places that involved water (which was my favorite thing in the world not to mention she lived on a lake, which made it all the more convenient). I always looked forward to spending summers by that lake & in her arms. She'll always have a special place in my heart.

Although I don't remember her well, my grandmother always spoke very positively of her. She lived a great long life!

I remember when Dorothy was in High School and she wasn't sure what she wanted her major to be. I said to her remember when we played hospital? You liked that, why don't you become a nurse?

My sister has been called to the Next Life. Although as children we had different friends- i was four years older- we developed more closeness after we both married and lived within a few blocks of eachother. She lived for a few years on SW Marigold Street in a home with a creek, and we were south of her on 37th and Spring Garden.
It saddened us all when her husband moved them to Seattle. However we always spent a week together with our children in the summers, usually traveling by train.
Frequent letter writing kept us in touch and involved in eachother's lives. She often had useful advice, especially about medical issues.
We were saddened when she began showing signs of dementia. We first noticed something wrong when her letters were all so similar. There wasn't any new news so maybe she was forgetting recent events.
She always seemed the healthy, active, outdoorsy girl. But it's God's decree how we end up. He called her when the time was best so she didn't have to suffer. We are grateful for that and the memories we have of her.
Love from her only sister- Loretta

Aunty Dorothy gave me my first Ponytail Swirl Alabaster Barbie and later she visited and sometimes brought my sons presents. I have fond memories of taking the train and staying we her in Lake Forest Park and on Lake Washington. There was good food and great advice. She understood me even when my Mom did not. She was hardworking, beautiful and kind. I grew up admiring her and I always will. Even though sometimes in laws have issues, she was a real lady and even my Dad said so. Love Niece Tammy Lorenz

We remember Aunt Dorothy as warm, loving, hospitable, and caring. She kept in touch with her sister and her family contentiously, she and Loretta wrote lettters every two weeks after she moved to Seattle. Many of them I have kept. I stayed with her for a couple weeks one summer and she taught me to make clothing with patterns, which became a lifetime hobby which I still enjoy. I remember her great lasagne, her laugh, and her love for animals. She usually had a dog or dogs and sometimes a cat, besides when she raised birds. Her home was always clean besides working full time and raising four children. She also was not against my becoming Muslim, a tribute to her upbringing with an open mind. She joins her parents now, Grandma Amelia and Grandpa Paul, and her little first born Diana. I trust we will meet again in Heaven and God will give her tasks of caring for others as she loved to do in this life.
