Dorothy Sparling Obituary
Dorothy May Sparling passed away on Monday, October 17, 2016 in Lake Forest Park, WA at age 95. Dorothy was born on September 29, 1921 in Kinuso, Alberta, Canada.
Dorothy is survived by her children Don Sparling (Nancy), Robert Sparling (Sherrill), and Susan Riggs. She was blessed with many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by Tom Sparling, her husband, in 2004, son James Sparling in 2009, and grandson Matthew Sparling in 2007.
Dorothy married Thomas in 1943 after meeting in the boarding house where they lived.
She graduated from Seattle Business College in accounting in 1942.
She was a very active volunteer in the Briarcrest Guild of Children's Hospital. She and Thomas loved to travel, golf, bowl, and loved her family.
A celebration of Dorothy's life will be held Nov 20th at the Edmonds Senior Center, 2 to 4 pm, 220 Railroad Avenue, Edmonds, WA. Memorial donations may be made to Children's Hospital or the American Diabetes Association.
