Elinor Anita Brydges

Elinor Anita Brydges passed from this life to more life on November 1, 2015. Elinor was born September 29, 1926 in Seattle WA. She graduated from Ballard High School in 1944 and remembers many boys in her class leaving school to go off to war. After graduating from high school she attended the University of Washington in Seattle for two years and it was there that she met her future husband John Brydges who had recently returned from serving in the U.S. Navy. They were married Sept. 7, 1946 and celebrated their 57th anniversary before John's death in 2003. In 2006 she moved to Touchmark in Bend, OR to be near her son.

Elinor and John had two children Marilynn (Mark) Chintella, Chehalis, WA and Bob Brydges (Lori Brizee), Bend, OR. Elinor is survived by five grandchildren, Blair Chintella, Atlanta, GA;

Angela (Ryan) Manalili, Woodland,

WA; Chelsea (Jason) Roe, Tumwater, WA; Suzanne Brydges, Skykomish, WA and Michael Brydges, Mosier, OR and three great-grandchildren, Lexi, Jacksen and Malia Manalili.

She and her husband were members of Calvin Presbyterian Church in Shoreline, WA for forty years. Elinor loved to read and worked for many years at the Edmonds Public Library where she made lifelong friends.

Her sunny smile and welcoming nature will be missed by all who knew her.

Elinor can be remembered with donations to the Deschutes County Public Library and the Humane Society.
