Erika Ann Ross

Erika Ann Ross left this world on February 8, 2017, at her home at the Hillwood Senior Adult Care Home. She was born July 28,1926, in Lenningrad, Russia and was the daughter of Wasily and Rodamira Nikow (Koshevnikow). Erika attended Seattle University where she graduated with a Bachelors of Art Degree. She earned her Master's Degree at the University of Washington and her Doctorate Degree from the Sussex University of London. Erika was employed by the Seattle Public Schools where she taught German, Russian and English at the high school level. After retiring from her teaching career she was a volunteer at the Snohomish County Senior Center in Edmonds, Washington.

Erika was a member of the University Presbyterian Church, Aurora Nazarene Church, and the Calvin Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed traveling to Europe, Russia, Mexico, and the Caribbean Islands. She also traveled extensively throughout the United States and Canada.

Erika was a true member of the Hillwood Senior Adult Home for the past six years of her precious life. She loved her caregivers and each of the residents there. While at Hillwood she enjoyed art, where she created many chalk and water-color pictures. The walls of her bedroom were filled with her artwork and she invited everyone who came to Hillwood in to see her walls of art.

Erika is survived by her son, Robert (Bob) Creel and his wife Linda, and her daughters Susan Allen and her husband Bob and Jean Shumate and her husband Greg. She also is survived by four grandchildren, Robbie Creel, Ashley Patureau, Angela Allen and Andrew Allen. She was predeceased by her daughter, Joan Stempak.

A Celebration of Erika's Life will be held on May 26th at 11:00 a.m., at Calvin Presbyterian Church, 18826-3rd Ave. NW
