Eugene Morton Obituary
Eugene Randall Morton, 94 of Ashland passed away Saturday, September 16, 2017 at home.
He was born on March 2, 1923 to the late Edward R. and Irene (nee Norton) Morton in Beatty, Kansas.
Eugene proudly served in the United States Navy during WWII. He married the former Kathryn Myers in September of 1947.
He was employed for Rainier Electric from 1961 to 1975. Eugene went on to work at Burke Electric in Mercer Island Washington retiring in 2003 after nearly 70 years as an Electrician.
Eugene was a member of the Shoreline Free Methodist Church and enjoyed playing golf and traveling throughout his life.
Eugene remarried after his wife passed away, to the former Dawn L. Leader who survives. Both he and Dawn served as volunteers at Warm Beach Campground from 2005 to 2011.
He is survived by one son, Russell (Dawn) Morton of Ashland; and three grandchildren, Nicole Ashley Morton, Colon Tyler Morton, and Kelsie Taylor Morton.
In addition to his parents and first wife, Kathryn, Eugene is preceded in death by one infant son; Steven Morton; and one son, Randall Eugene Morton who passed away in 1993.
An interment service will be October 7, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. in the Acacia Memorial Park in Seattle, Washington. Friends may call in the family home, 305 Steele Avenue, Ashland, Ohio 44805 on Wednesday, Sept. 20, 2017 from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Warm Beach Campground, 20800 Marine Drive, Stanwood, WA 98292.
For those who may not be able to attend, online condolences may be shared on the funeral home's
website at denbowfh.com.

I had the privilege to work with Gene at Burke Electric. He was one of a kind. Gene was a great teacher, as well as a great friend. I enjoyed the time I spent with Gene, on and off the job. I looked up to him as good friend and a good example of an honest man. He will be missed.
