Evelyn Bunton Obituary
Beloved mother of 7, step-mother to 5, grandmother of 16, and great-grandmother of 26, passed away March 7, 2017. Born March 4, 1922 to Leo and Alice Eason of Kirkland, Evelyn married James Matthews of Redmond in June, 1941 and resided in Port Angeles where he was in the U.S. Coast Guard. After the War, settling in Lake Forest Park, they raised seven children: James, Gary, Robert, Richard, Daniel, Ronald, and Lynette. Evelyn was widowed in 1955 when the love of her life died of Polio. She later married Cliff Bunton. Widowed again in 2007, she remained in her Lake Forest Park home until moving to assisted living in 2011.
"MOMO" was a woman shaped by the Great Depression and buoyed throughout her life by a strong and quiet Christian faith. Her greatest joy was to be a mother, and she served others by being a foster mother to over eighty kids. Despite disappointments and hardships, she maintained a joyful, encouraging spirit and in her own special way she was the epitome of the Greatest Generation.

A woman of dignity and faith, she was loved by many. Momo will be missed by all who knew her, but we know she is rejoicing in heaven. We will meet again!

Our hearts ache for you and the entire Matthews clan on the passing of MOMO. From the initial time I met MOMO and through all the years I was always impressed with how loving and full of Joy she was - a true testimony to her Christian walk. For her children and all of the foster children there was always an abundance of love and kind words about them all - being able to see the positive seemed to be a gift of hers to. In the many times I saw her, I was taken aback with how she seemed to be bigger than life, she captured the presence in a room and caught the attention of everyone. She was an incredible woman and mother and we will miss here very much.
