Francis Marion Guion

At the age of 91, Frank quietly passed at his home in Edmonds, WA. He was born to Raymond and Thelma Guion, in Seattle, WA, and spent his younger years in the Greenlake area with his sister Elizabeth "Betty" Jane. The family also lived in Anacortes and eventually settled on Bainbridge Island where they owned property with a small cabin. His love for boating, sailing, beach combing, digging for clams; fishing and gardening came from his many years spent at this home. He attended school in Winslow where he enjoyed playing the trumpet and basketball. Immediately following his High School graduation, Frank enlisted in the Army and was a Corporal in the 2nd Reconnaissance Cavalry Troop.

Following his service in the Army, Frank attended the University of Washington where he met Mary Lou LaBree during his sophomore year. They both graduated in 1952 with Frank earning a Business Administration Degree and later on a Masters. Frank and Mary Lou were married February 27, 1953 and enjoyed 65 years together. Frank began his career working for Standard Oil Company while Mary Lou worked for Ma Bell (American Telephone and Telegraph Corporation). They eventually settled in Lake City to raise their four children. During these years the family attended North Seattle Missionary Alliance Church.

In 1987 they moved to Edmonds with their youngest son Paul. Frank soon became a beloved member of the Edmonds community where he touched countless lives through his selfless caring and good humor. During his retired years he became very active in Shoreline Community Church where he cherished and loved his church family.

His parents, Raymond and Thelma Guion, sister Betty Jane and her husband Richard Neff preceded Frank in death. He is survived by his wife, Mary Lou Guion, daughter Jan (husband John Winters); sons Eric (wife Roxanne), Lee (wife Jammi) and Paul (wife Judy); fourteen grandchildren Josh, Jesse, Jason, Julia, Amy, Anne, Kate, Tyler, Shane, Travis, Daniel, Jean-Paul, Matteus and Elizabeth; four great grandchildren Parker, Delainey, Mason and Hudson, step-sister Susan Swaim, and a host of cherished relatives.
