George Paris

George Paris passed away peacefully in Seattle, WA on August 16th 2018 at the age of 89. George lived the American dream: he was the son of a Greek immigrant steel worker and he married the granddaughter of the president of Republic Steel; he served our country as a Paratrooper and Ranger; he had a successful career in Hollywood; and he was a loving husband, father, uncle, grandfather, and friend to many.

Born to Gust and Eftihia Paristeris in Warren, Ohio during the depression, George joined the army out of high school. He graduated from Kent State University with a major in Radio and went to Hollywood to have a long and successful career. He moved to Seattle to be with his family, because that's what families do.

He was an avid golfer and a heck of a Ping Pong player. He made everyone he met feel important.

He is survived by his loving wife, Nancy Beck Paris; daughters Jennifer Paris (Brian Moe, Wren and Gabriel) and Dr. Carolyn Paris (Dr. David Tirschwell, Ellie, Ben, and Sophia); sisters Irene Pangos (William) and Eileen Gustin; Brother-in-law Reed Beck (Karen); and many loved nieces, nephews and "adopted" daughters.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the following organizations: Holy Apostles Greek Orthodox Church Scholarship Fund or Harborview Hospital Palliative Care Center.

Trisagion service for remembrances and viewing will be held at Evergreen Washelli on Wednesday August 22 at 7:00 pm.

Funeral Service will be held at Holy Apostles Greek Orthodox Church in Shoreline on August 23rd at 11:00. Makaria lunch will follow. Burial at 2:00 at Evergreen Washelli.
