George S. ZAMBERLIN George Zamberlin passed away April 29th peacefully with family by his side. He spent his last weeks, as he did in life, surrounded by many family and friends. George was born May 16th, 1929 in Seattle, Washington to Anna and George Zamberlin. He was the fourth of seven children. He grew up in the University District and attended Blessed Sacrament Grade School. He graduated from O'Dea High School with the Great Class of '47. He attended Ventura JC on a football scholarship, Everett CC, and graduated from Seattle University. George served in Korea as an Army Signal Corps Messenger. George met the love of his life Corinne at a dance as sophomores in high school. He and Corinne were married in August of 1953 at St. Benedicts Church. They had three children Kathy, Nancy and Steve and raised their nephew Walt and niece Mary Kay as their own. George founded National Sign Corporation with his brother Tony. He served on many industry committees and serviced numerous accounts throughout the Northwest, including the Washington State Convention Center and Metro Bus Tunnel. George deeply loved and supported O'Dea, his Alma mater. He valued a Christian Brothers education and was instrumental in the development of many building additions, such as the gymnasium, library and multiple classrooms. George rarely missed an O'Dea function or game. George and Corinne were active members of St. John's parish for 20 years and St. Luke's parish for 35 years putting on dances, dinners, lectoring and making thousands of sandwiches for the homeless. Among his many interests were cooking, reading, music and dancing. He was an avid sports fan and loved golf. George will be remembered for his kindness, generosity, wonderful sense of humor, beautiful singing voice and his many great stories. Most of all he cherished his time with family and friends. George always made time to slow down and enjoy the special moments with everyone he met. George is survived by his beloved wife Corinne, children Kathy (Carroll), Nancy (Scott), Steve (Angie) and grandchildren Brian, Peter, Molly, Daniel, Patrick, Austin and Tyler. Recitation of the Rosary will be Sunday, May 6th at 4:00 PM and the Funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday, May 7th at 11:00 AM BOTH at St. Luke Catholic Church, Shoreline, WA. Remembrances may be made to St. Luke Catholic Parish, the Knights of Columbus, and/or O'Dea High School. I can't picture Uncle George without Aunt Corinne by his side or a broad smile on his face. He'll be missed terribly but we're so grateful for his faithfulness and generosity and the promise of Eternal Life.

Dear Mrs Zamberlin and Family
So sorry to read the sad news. I fondly recall watching Kathy and Nancy and how I enjoyed talking with you and Mr Zamberlin when you returned home. So many good memories from when you lived 2 doors up.

Uncle George was always "there" for everyone. He made it a point to be present with all his attention and love. His was a life to be truly admired and emulated. We really miss him and look forward to the day when "we'll be together again." The crowds at the Rosary and the Funeral Mass - standing room only - were a testament to a life well lived! Prayers and love to Aunt Corinne and our cousins.

George was a good person who led a wonderful and fruitful life. The large attendance at his funeral is a testimony to this, especially for someone in their mid 80's when so many associates have passed on.

George and Corinne have been such an inspiration to my family here at St Lukes. Getting to know him these past 18 years has been a real honor. He (and his ever present partner Corinne) was always eager to stop and chat whether at school, at church, at sporting events or simply stopping in the middle of the street in front of our house while charmingly holding up traffic. I'll always smile when I remember looking into the St. Luke lunch room kitchen and seeing George surrounded by dozens of our churches finest retired ladies making sandwiches.

George was one of the good guys. A great sense of humor. It's no wonder that George and Corrine had so many friends throughout the Seattle area. I well remember the good days we had together at O'Dea.

George and Corinne were parents to my dear friend Walt and his sister Mark Kay upon the death of their mom, Corinne's sister. George was always such a great blend of funny and strong, understanding and kind and tough. He was a wonderful man to know as I grew up and in adulthood. I owe my first teaching job to George. Apparently if he said to hire someone at O'Dea, no one was going to argue with him. All my best to the entire Zamberlin Family!

Corinne,
George and you have done so much for St. Luke's Parish, with the flowers at the altar and in the church, AND George's special dish that he made for every funeral reception. He will be missed very much. You were a caring and faithful caregiver during his recent illness, for which I know George and your family were very grateful. I will miss him very much, as will many more people I know.
Love and prayers,
Mary Bartholet

Zamberlin Family: My deepest sympathy. If you need anything feel free to call. I loved talking with him, seeking his wisdom. He won so much money from me playing poker. "Jose, call me George, not Mr. Zamberlin!" I'll miss him.

You are all in our thoughts and prayers. God Bless you.

To Corrine and all of the Zamberlin family, I am so sorry for your loss. George was a special and wonderful man and will be missed. The kindness your family showed to Walt and Mary Russell was really something to behold. George and Corinne were also very kind to me and Frank and the rest of the Blanchet mob that gravitated towards Walt. God Bless.
