My heartfelt sympathy to the Bowers family on the loss of your dear father. My father, Millard McGladrey, worked under Gordon at Shoreline as the district's foreman electrician. According to my father, Mr. Bowers was a gem, genuine, fair, and consistent in maintaining the best conditions for his employees. My parents frequently would greet Gordon and Edith at Denny's Lynnwood. Our family was very pleased and honored to have Gordon attend and speak at my father's funeral. Gordon radiated such love and warmth in so many ways. It was truly a pleasure to have shared a portion of Gordon's life's journey. Most sincerely, Sally McGladrey Bjornson Kingston, WA

Gordon Bowers has been my neighbor for a very long time. He and I would often stop and talk in the street when he would be out working in his garden, or getting the days mail from his mailbox on my side of the street. He was always very pleasant, with never an unkind thing to say about anyone. I have lived here for over 34 years, and I can easily say that Gordon was always the nicest neighbor to me. He will be missed in this neighborhood.

I remember Mr. Bowers when he was my principal at Briarcrest Elementary. The year was 1956, 56 years ago.
I have fond memories of the school and spending our recess time playing on the dirt field then Mr. Bowers would appear and begin playing with everyone. To me he was a giant in size with a very soft heart.
