Gordon Alan BAKER, Sr. Lake Forest Park resident Gordon Alan Baker, Sr., 89, died September 30, 2011, at his Adult Family Home in Shoreline, WA. A memorial service will be held at Haller Lake United Methodist Church on October 22, 2011 at 2:00 pm. Mr. Baker was born September 17, 1922, in Camas, WA to Everett and Nina Baker. He studied physics at the University of Washington. His education was interrupted by WWII when he served in the U.S. Army. He fought in the Philippines where he was a forward observer with an artillery unit. After V-J day he spent 6 months with the U.S. force that occupied Japan. Not long after he returned he met and married Margaret Moseley of Madison, WI. He worked 35 years for Boeing on various projects including the Bomarc Missile, the Saturn V Moon Rocket, and the Minuteman Missile. He was a dedicated and loving husband, father, and grandfather. He was a scout master in Lake Forest Park. He was also a committed Christian and church member at Haller Lake United Methodist Church. In addition, he was a musician in his youth and a life long music lover. He is survived by his son Dave and wife Elaine, son Gordon, Jr. and wife Debbie, and 5 grandchildren. Memorials may be made to Haller Lake United Methodist Church or to the Shoreline Fire Department Aid Car Fund in lieu of flowers.To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.
