Helen M. STRAND Helen Mae Strand, our beloved Gram, passed away peacefully on July 18, 2011 in Shoreline, WA. Daughter of William M. Moyer and Mary McCabe Moyer, Helen had a sister, Margaret. She grew up in Bremerton and graduated high school in 1933. Mother to Nance, Jone, Maryellen, Douglas and Paul, she had 14 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. Once when asked what her hobbies were, she replied 'my family.' Helen's sense of humor, friendly spirit and kind heart guided her through life. She was preceded in death by her husband Clarence, son Paul, daughters Jone Phillips and Nance Johnson, and granddaughter, Helen Forsberg. She is survived by her daughter Maryellen Forsberg and son, Douglas Strand, nephews Dick and Steve Benskin and niece Marilyn McCallum, along with all her grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Thanks to Yohannes Adult Care and to Margaret Wanjohi for the excellent care given to Gram for the past three years. We will all very much miss Gram's knowing grin and wry sense of humor.A memorial service for family and friends will be held in September. What a Grand lady! Helen was always positive, interested in what everyone was doing, and a good role model. She did love her family and showed much pride in everyone. Sorry for your loss, but we feel lucky to have known such a great person, and know you feel the same way. Carry on, as you know she always did. You are all in our thoughts and prayers.
With sincere sympathy and caring thoughts,
Ray, Bev and the Phillips family
