Herb ANDERSON Obituary
Of Puyallup Washington (formerly of Ballard) passed into his Lord's presence this past Sunday morning, December 29th. He was a very active husband, father and grandfather, serving with his friends for years as a leader of his home church, Berean Bible Church of Shoreline Washington.
Herb was born on May 30, 1927 in Rockford Illinois, and then moved to Chicago with his family when he entered high school. Herb served in the US Navy during WWII in the Pacific theatre, working on a submarine chaser and a patrol boat. After his service in the military he attended Seattle Pacific College in Seattle, graduating with a degree in Microbiology and Public Health, specializing in Epidemiology.
He worked for the Seattle/King County health department for 33 years, retiring after his 10,000th investigation, and then working for the National Parks Service in Alaska, Oregon and Washington for eight additional years.

My family and I were neighbors of Herb and his family for many years in Ballard. His daughter, Heidi, and I used to walk to school together. Herb helped us with science report when we were in 5th grade :-) May God bring Ruby, their children, and extended family comfort as they grieve. We rejoice with them knowing that Herb is in the Lord's presence and that we will see him again on the other side.

The Anderson's were our neighbors back in Ballard. I remember the whole family with great fondness. You are in my thoughts and prayers as you say goodbye to Herb.

To the Anderson Family;
I remember Herb fondly working closely with my father,Dr. Alf Pedersen. He helped me several times with his epidemiology and gave me a greater appreciation for it as a career. I will always remember his smile and sense of humor and how devoted he was at serving the public health department. My condolences to your family.
