Hjordis Berg Obituary
On Monday, September 3, 2018, Hjordis went home to heaven at the age of 88. She was born in Rissa Norway on July 19, 1930, on a farm where she grew up with her parents and six siblings. In 1954 she married the love of her life, Erling Berg, and followed him to Seattle, WA. They raised three daughters; Anita, Sonja, and Heidi and acquired Cathy later on. Hjordis was lively, social, strong in her Christian faith and always had a positive attitude. She participated in the Norwegian Ladies Chorus, Sons of Norway activities, and volunteered for Ski for Light over 25 years. She had a generous heart and her door was always open. She joins her grandson in heaven and is survived by her husband Erling, four daughters, two son-in-laws, four grandchildren and two older sisters in Norway.
Memorial service to be held
Thursday, Sept. 20 at 2:00 pm at
Shoreline Community Church
125 NE 185th St.
Shoreline, WA 98155
Bunads welcome.
Memorial donations may be made to Ski for Light Puget Sound, 1531 Alpensee Strasse, Leavenworth, WA 98826.

I grew up down the street from Mrs. Berg and her family and was friends with her daughter, Anita. I remember how warm and friendly she was. My condolences to her family.

So happy to have seen Hjordis at family gathering this past summer.
She holds a special place in my heart. I send my love and sympathy
to Erling and her family. I won't be in town and will miss her service,

She was part of our Trollhaugen family. Our boys called her Mor Mor and our family always look forward to seeing both Erling and Hjordis. She will be truly missed. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Erling and family.
