Homer Millspaugh Obituary

Homer Lee Millspaugh

Homer Millspaugh passed away on September 20, 2016, at Harborview Hospital in Seattle, after falling and sustaining significant brain injuries on September 15, 2016. He had many health challenges, especially the last few years, coping with Parkinson's disease and a severe hearing loss.

Homer was born in Kalispell on April 26, 1941, to Lola and Earl Millspaugh. He attended Cornelius Hedges grade school, Central Junior High and graduated from Flathead County High School in 1959. He remained friends with many of his classmates.

Homer began his grocery store career at Sykes Grocery in Kalispell. After moving to Seattle, he worked primarily for Albertson's Food Stores and Bert's Red Apple.

He married Leslie Bauska in 1964, and they made their home in Seattle. He enjoyed taking care of his yard and home, and was especially fond of his neighbors in the Richmond Beach community where they lived for 47 years. He enjoyed many vacations in about 50 different countries, including many trips with his in-laws, Les and Camilla Bauska.

Fifteen years ago, Homer and Leslie bought a second home in Kalispell, where they spent many months each year. He appreciated the opportunity to spend more time with his in-laws and get reacquainted with old high school friends. He also enjoyed time spent at the family cabin on Ashley Lake, where his principal duty was making sure there was wood split for the fire!

Homer is survived by his wife, Leslie, at their home in Shoreline, Washington. He also is survived by his brother Charles in Bremerton, WA, his mother-in-law Camilla Bauska, and three Bauska brothers-in-law: Roy, Jack and Greg, whom he appreciated very much.

Homer was an extremely kind and considerate man who will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

At his request, there will be no memorial service. His cremains will have their final resting spot in Montana. Sign Homer's on line Guest Book: www.Legacy.com.

I would not be where I am today had it not been for the guidance Homer gave me when I was 16, starting a career in produce. That was the late 1960's.

Dear Leslie,

I am so sorry to hear your loss. Homer was such a nice gentleman. Ellie and I still have the fond memories of him showing Ellie how to set up the fire in the fire pit, and switching on the Christmas lights for her in your home.

Please take care of yourself!
