Jean Kraft Obituary
Arlowyn Jean Kraft passed away July 31, 2016, in Shoreline, WA. She was born 1923 in Andover, South Dakota, the daughter of Rex and Grace Raynes. After attending Northern State Teachers College, she taught 3rd grade in Groton, SD. During WWII, she moved with her family to Seattle, WA. She sang and played piano for the USO while working for Boeing inspecting airplane parts. Jean met Howard Kraft at Seattle First Methodist Church where they were married in 1949. After raising their family on Mercer Island, they moved to Port Orchard, WA, until Howard passed away in 2004. Jean moved to Cristwood Park in Shoreline.
Jean is survived by her daughters Shirley Shakarian (Roupen), Marlene Weaver (Jim), Linda Williams (Jeff), Anita Alger (Mike); grandchildren Ben, Kelsey, Mikaela, CJ, Katrina and great grandchild Hudson Howard.
Celebration of Jean's life will be held 1:00 PM Sunday, August 14 at Calvin Presbyterian Church, 18826 Third Ave NW, Shoreline, WA 98177. Memorials in Jean's honor may be sent to Seattle's Union Gospel Mission, P.O. Box 202, Seattle, WA 98111-0202.
