Joann Ohlinger Obituary

Joann Alicia Ohlinger

Joann Alicia Ohlinger (nee Treadwell) passed away peacefully on July 27, 2018 at the age of 88. She was born July 16,

1930 in Seattle, the eldest of three children, to George & Irene Treadwell. She spent the majority of her life on Magnolia and graduated from Queen Anne High School in 1948. At the University of Washington, she joined Kappa Delta sorority which produced a myriad of lifelong friendships.

Shortly after college she met & married Allen Russell Ohlinger in 1957. A journey of 61 years together provided unforgettable moments and lasting memories- family outings to Lake Chelan and visits to family members throughout the country. An avid supporter of Husky football, she and Al enjoyed many seasons from the south grandstands with family and friends.

Her 40+ year career in the travel industry started with Western Airlines, continued with Magnolia Travel, and Where-to-Go / University travel. Even in retirement, she continued to coordinate groups for the Women's University Club of Seattle which provided the opportunity to see the world and assist others in seeing the places of their dreams.

Through the years she served on the board of the Women's University Club (where she was a member for over 55 years), Magnolia's Episcopal Church of the Ascension, and North Seattle's St. Dunstan's Church. She was also a member of ICTA

She is survived by her devoted husband Al, sister Georgene Keeler, brother Bill Treadwell (Janet), her children Alicia Austin (Kevin), Matt (Marcie), grandchildren Andrew & Regan Austin, Marcus (Jessica) & Kristi Ohlinger, and great-grandchildren, Taylor & Rory Ohlinger. Her family thanks the caring and compassionate staff at Ida Culverhouse Broadview for their support.

Services will be held at
