Joanna Houghton Obituary
Joanna Houghton died on November 15th at home with family present. She made many friends in Ballard, where she resided for the past 12 years. Born on July 4, 1920 in Ridgeway Township, MI she grew up on the family farm in Britton, Michigan. Youngest daughter of Leon Clarence Exelby and Floy (Underwood) Exelby, she was married at the Peoples Church in East Lansing, Michigan in 1950 to Howard E. Houghton who is predeceased in 1998. Joanna is survived by her children - Matthew West Seattle WA, Martha J Cooke, Santa Fe New Mexico, Ralph Daniel, Walden, New York and Mark, Vashon, WA and 9 grandchildren.
The family wishes to thank the residence and staff of the Landmark, Ballard Senior Center and Swedish Medical Center in Ballard for their thoughtful support and companionship. She was a loving wife, mother and friend who will be missed and fondly remembered.
