I was sorry to read of John's death. In earlier times we worked for the same bank and shared a love of the game of golf and played many rounds at Mt Si and various courses in the area. I remembered my wife and I giving him a ride to an Oregon vs Washington game in the old Multnomia stadium in Portland many years ago. We both belonged to a group that met from time to time to play poker and some of the games were in the Wheeler summer place on Bainbridge. My wife and I even spent a most enjoyable week-end in there as John's guest one summer many years ago.
We had drifted apart in later years after we both retired but the notice in the paper brought back a flood of these and other fond memories.
My age has brought some restrictions to my activities so I won't be able to attend the memorial service.
May he rest in peace;. He was a good guy.
