Joseph MOORE Obituary

Joseph Patrick MOORE

Born February 16, 1923 in Seattle, WA; died February 5, 2013 in Shoreline.

He served in WW II, in South Pacific on the U.S.S. MADDOX Destroyer as a Sonarman Third Class until October, 1945. He worked as an electrician until he joined the Seattle Police Department in 1956. His last 10 years was as a foot patrolman in the "Junction" in West Seattle. He retired in the summer of 1983. He and his wife Edith Troutman Moore, who passed away in November 2005, were long time residents of the Admiral area.

Joe was a loving and caring husband to Edith, a proud step-father to Edith's only son,

Lyle Michel, and supportive to his step-grandchildren, Kevin (Kari), Keith and Kurt.

Throughout his illness he exhibited patience and fortitude in the face of ever developing problems. Yet he never lost his sense of humor, or his will to live. And the sounds and touch of a woman always put a smile on his face.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday, February 18th, at 11 AM, at St. Luke Catholic Church, 322 N. 175th St., Shoreline, WA 98133.

Interment, Calvary Cemetery.

Keith, you have done a great job of taking care of your grandfather. He would be very proud of you.
Joe was a good man and always looked quite "spiffy" while walking the beat in West Seattle for many years.A true policeman.

Grandpa Joe
I believe have fun was one of the most important things in your live, next to loyalty and honor. This world and everyone you came in contact with are better for knowing you.
You will always be remembered.
You are a good man.
I love you Grandpa Joe
