Joyce Burlingame Obituary
Joyce A. Burlingame (Gullickson -
Fagerland), age 84, passed away quietly at her home of 50 years in Shoreline on September 30, 2015 after a brief battle with cancer. She was born in Noonan, N. Dakota on July 11, 1931. She is preceded in death by her husband Donald Burlingame and is survived by her children Rod, Sheri, and Susan, grandchildren Derek, Dana, Danita, David and Jackson, her sisters Loraine Hansen and Marlys Runyon, and 9 nephews and nieces with families. She lived in Noonan until she was 5 years old, the family migrated west settling in Everett WA. As an adult she moved to Seattle, worked in an insurance office, and married Don on October 3, 1959. She volunteered for the PTA, as a den mother, carpool driver for kids activities and raising charitable funds for Children's Orthopedic Hospital. She had an outgoing personality and rarely turned anyone down who asked for help. She was a selfless saint. Joyce loved to bowl, water ski, do crossword and Sudoku puzzles, listen to Scandinavian music and dance polka and schottische, paint and garden.
Joyce lived her life and gave of herself as if she loved every minute and everyone she met. For that reason she will be greatly missed by friends, family and acquaintances alike. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in her name to the Bothell Sons of Norway (attn: Scholarship Fund) or a cancer research center of your choice. Memorial service at Nile Shrine in Mountlake Terrace Friday, Oct 23, at 2:00pm. For more info and full obituary please visit:

Dear Joyce; Judy & I hoped to have tea and cookies one more time:alas we forgive you! God had another plan for you. I will share with your wonderful Family how long ago we first met and that I graduated from Ballard Hi 1948 same year as Don B. My family is no stranger to the evils of cancer. I will continue to fight the fight. Perhaps God has a place for you as the "Cashier" if Garage sales are permitted in heaven. My Nephews the Rudorfer Boys are sending me their feelings of what a joy you were as their "neighbor across the street" for oh so many years. You will be missed by so many. until we meet again, Evy (Blackler) Mooney & Family - PS; If you should meet Doris give her a special Hug from me!
