Judith Cheeney Obituary

Judith Elaine (Bawden) CHEENEY March 14, 1944 ~ April 1, 2012 Born at Seattle General Hospital to A. Thomas and Martha (Peterson) Bawden, Judy joined her sister, Carolyn. Brother, David, joined the family a few years later. Judy was four when she began piano. Judy also took accordion, vibraharp, and organ lessons. At 12, she began playing for church where she played piano, vibraharp, and organ. In 1957 she met the love of her life, Frank, and they married in 1960. In 1963 son, David, was born, in 1968 daughter, Cynthia, and in 1969 son, Daniel. Judy was known for family and music throughout her life. She was church organist and pianist from age 12 until a few weeks before her passing. She gave music lessons over the years and made sure her children received music lessons. She accompanied her dad, "Brother Tom", for many years, and for nine years was the "temporary" accompanist, arranger, and composer for the Premier's Quartet. In 2005 Judy was diagnosed with colon cancer. She was within six months of being declared "cancer free", when in July of 2011 she was detected with "very aggressive" uterine and ovarian cancer. Despite multiple chemotherapy treatments, she lost the battle at home on April 1, 2012. Judy is survived by her husband, Frank; two sons, David (Lynn), Daniel (Ana), and daughter, Cynthia (Don); grandchildren Dominique (Dan), Kimberly, Timothy, Stephen, Rachel, Analisa, Thomas, and Neva; great granddaughter, Ariana. Her God, her family, and her music were the thrust of her life. She lived her life as she was taught by her parents: "Live for self, live in vain. Live for others, live to gain." Judy will be missed by family and friends. A memorial service is planned at Shoreline Free Methodist Church on April 19th at 2:00 P.M. Donations can be made in her memory to "NW Family Life" or to "Sister Connection" through the church. Sign Judy's on-line Guest Book at www.Legacy.com.

The anointing of the lord Jesus Christ of the musical talent of Judy was very evident. And now she joins the saints and angels of Christ for eternity. Our prayers are with Frank and the family who will miss her dearly until then.

Dear: Frank, David, Daniel, and Cynthia.
Judy will be missed but remembered here on earth. Judy was always cheerful full of songs and praise; helpful and always praying. Memories we have are cherished ones until we see her again and will for All Eternity singing with her praising God. What a Day that will be to be with Jesus and all who have went before us in the family of God; who have received Jesus Christ as there Lord and Savior. You are all in our prayers.

Love,

Jordan & Patricia Stedman & family.

Frank and family—
Please accept our sincere condolences in the loss of your beloved Judy. She was such a blessing to everyone who ever heard her play an instrument. What a talent! While we all will miss her, how nice to know she is with the Lord and no longer in pain. That is a blessing in itself, but certainly does not ease the hole in your hearts. May our gracious Lord bless you all.
