Lars Gilmour Obituary
Nov. 2, 1956 ~ Oct. 1, 2016
Lars Arne Gilmour was born in Bitburg, Germany, and passed peacefully in his sleep in Bothell, Washington, on October 1, 2016.
He earned his Bachelor of Science (Earth and Space Sciences, Geology option) and Masters Degree (Geological Science) at the University of Washington. He taught classes in geology at the University of Washington, Shoreline Community College, and South Seattle Community College.
Lars is survived by his father, George Gilmour (Marjorie), his brother Mogenns Gilmour (Nancy), sisters Deborah VanPevenage (Michael), Leslie Wilson (Ivan -
deceased), and Erin Miller (Lee) and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. He was predeceased by his mother, Ellen Gilmour.
A celebration of Lars' life will be held at a future time. Donations can be made in the name of Lars Gilmour to: Shoreline Community College - Geology Department.

He didn't make even 60, I'm saddened greatly by the anniversary of his passing. He was a great mind in all the sciences, mine was in semiconductor lasers and large CO2 lasers, he reached for the stars, while I traveled at light speed cutting metals... here's to Lar's, lightspeed my friend....!

I knew Lars very well, I regret not contacting him prior to his passing. He taught me a lot about ions, and botany, he was a master at it. I'll miss him forever.

I can't believe that Lars is gone! He was not even 60 years old? Lars helped me make the move to Colorado last year. We climbed the Whitman Crest on the side of Mt Rainier many years ago and we did a lot of skiing from his RV at Crystal and Steven's Pass. I spent many evenings at Lars house in Bothell drinking beer and figuring out the whole world. He was a genius you know. I will miss Lars
