I just learned of Larry's death this day.

I first went to sea as Larry's junior survey tech in 1975 aboard the old Oceanographer and in the 80's served as his senior tech aboard the Discoverer.

Larry, you helped and guided my in those early years and I sincerely thank you.

The mooring lines are laid fast, finished with engines. Farewell my friend.

Our sympathies to the family. Larry was a very kind and gentle man. My wife and I both sailed with him on the DISCO with NOAA in the early 80s, he will be missed. Rick & Beth Cole

Sad to hear about Larry. He was a very kind person for sure. Good conversationalist and historian. Spent time with him on the NOAA Ship Discover on ocean mapping cruises. He'll be missed
