We went up to Index on May 5 and put a little more ashes in the river and threw some more flowers off the bridge in remembrance of mom. It was a beautiful sunny day. We truly miss her and can't believe it has been a year, it still feels like yesterday. Mom I hope you are resting in peace. Love you.

Mom was a great mother and wife. She always taught us to try our best at everything and work hard so that you could make something of yourself and be proud of your future. Mom was a good cook and taught us how to do a lot of things in the kitchen. I remember making xmas cookies during the holidays and we would help out by delivering them to the neighbors. Jeff and I would also get in trouble for eating all the carmelittas that were in the freezer, that were made for the family xmas party...LOL. It was so tough watching moms health go downhill and especially these last couple of months all I wanted to do was snap my fingers and make it all better. I am so glad that all of us kids were able to be there at the end and comfort her in her last moments.
Dad was a wonderful husband and took such good care of her the last 4-5 years at home. He was a trooper and gave up a lot, attending to all the chores around the house plus making sure moms needs were attended to.
Mom now all your pain is gone and you can run freely upstairs in heaven. I hope you were able to say hi to all your family and friends who passed before you. Make sure Elvis gets a chance to sign you a song.
Love you mom.
Nina, your oldest daughter.

Leona was my lifelong friend, we met when we entered first grade and became best friends immediately. Leona and I were together daily throughout our early and teen years, married and had our families close together and even though we didn't get together much in the last few years our friendship was as strong as ever. I will miss her forever. Rest in peace dear friend.
