Linda Irene Tynes

Linda Irene Tynes, 72, passed away peacefully at home on November 5, 2015. She was born to John and Velma Sprague.

Linda grew up in Seattle, Washington. She graduated from Lincoln high school in Seattle, Washington in 1961. After high school she attended Washington State University at Pullman Washington for a year. She then returned home and while working, put herself through college at the University of Washington from 1963 to 1967 received a Bachelor of Arts in Design for Apparel Manufacturing. Following college she worked for Walter Dorwin Teague Associates Inc. Linda married Reidar Tynes after meeting on the ski slopes of Alpental in Washington. They were happily married for 45 years.

Linda was a lifelong learner who enjoyed the outdoors as an avid skier, kayaker, and gardener. Her love for horticulture continued with her certificate of ornamental horticulture at Edmonds Community College and becoming a life member of the American Rose Society. She loved to travel, and visited many countries throughout her life. Linda had an artistic flair which was evident in her beautiful gardens, home and sense of fashion.

Linda is survived by her spouse Reidar Tynes of Seattle, Washington; her son Keven Tynes and her daughter Tiffany Tynes, both of Seattle, Washington; her brother Richard Sprague of Edmonds, Washington and her nieces and nephews and other relatives. Linda was preceded in death by her parents.

A memorial service will be held at First Lutheran Church at 18354 8th Avenue NW, Shoreline, Washington on Saturday, November 14, 2015 at Noon.

Remembrances may be made to Batten Disease Support and Research Association at bdsra.org. Condolences may be left on the Linda Tynes online guest book at www.washelli.com.
