Lois Champion Obituary

Lois K. Champion

"Talented Lady"

Lois was born February 17, 1925 in Kelso, Wash. and died in her home in Mukilteo, Wash. on May 8, 2015. She leaves behind her husband, Philip B. Hull, daughter, Roberta Champion, grandson Tyler Champion-Buckley; and several Norwegian and English cousins. Lois was an honoree graduate at Lincoln High School and the University of Washington School of Nursing. Here she obtained her B.A. and B.S. while also continuing on and receiving a masters degree in nursing. She was a member of the National Education Association, a lifetime member of the UW Alumni Association, Phi Beta Theta, a nursing honorary and the Sno-King School Retirees Association.

Lois had a 41 year career as an RN, first with the Seattle-King County Visiting Nurse Service followed by surgical nursing supervision in the interior of Venezuela with Mene; Grande Petroleum where she met and married her first husband, Robert W. Champion.

After her return to Seattle and the delivery of her daughter Roberta, Lois had a variety of other nursing experiences: as a head nurse at the Final Foundation for the mentally ill; a school nurse in the Shoreline and Snohomish School Districts, a counselor at the Pioneer Cooperative Affiliation, a residential treatment center for alcohol and drug abusers, and a nursing care geriatric consultant with WA State Social and Health Services.

Lois had many interests and talents as an artist, soloist, house designer and builder, and traveler. Her favorite places to visit were in South East Asia. In between her international travels she enjoyed vacations at her Kingston beach and Chelan Hills homes.

At her request there will be no service.
