Lori Lowell Obituary

Lori Ann Lowell

Lori A. (Nabseth) Lowell passed away on October 16, 2015 at Evergreen Hospital Medical Center in Kirkland, WA of complications from sepsis and pneumonia. Family has always been the priority in Lori's life. And it was her family that gathered around her when she went home to spirit. She was 57 years young.

Lori grew up in Lake Forest Park; graduating from Shorecrest HS in 1976. After dating him for only two weeks, Lori became engaged to Rick - a marriage of two perfectly matched souls that lasted over 32 years. She married Rick in her mid-20's, and spent the next 3 decades nurturing him and their 3 children. Her greatest pride was in creating and fostering her traditional nuclear family - and in raising her children to all become loving, successful, and independent adults.

She relished travel - cruising throughout the world, riding atop elephants in Laos, singing Irish ballads in Galway, watching a 4 am sunrise over Finnish fjords, riding first class on the Coast Starlight train, sleeping in a castle in Dublin, buzzing on a Vespa through the streets of Rome and Ho Chi Minh City, performing in a despacho ceremony in Peru, dog-sledding on an Alaskan glacier, playing roulette at the Grand Casino in Monte Carlo, watching theatre from the King's box at the Drury Lane Royal Theater in London, attending the opera in St. Petersburg; even meditating on the steppes at Machu Picchu. Upon return, she would ensconce herself in her craft room and create beautiful scrapbooks of her adventures.

But undoubtedly, what filled her heart with the most joy over the last few years were the giggles, hugs, and smiles she would receive from her 2 grandchildren. Nothing gave her more thrills than her son's regular early morning stops at her home - where she would excitedly run down the stairs and spend 10 minutes with her grandkids before they headed out for their day.

Lori was a shining beacon of love. She had a beautiful beaming smile and would share love and laughter with all. She was caring and kind - routinely thinking of others before herself. She was a textbook example of unconditional love. Lori is survived by her loving husband, Rick; her three children Corey, Josh and Alex; her daughters-in-law Amanda and Sarah; and her grandchildren Olivia and Brooks.

A Celebration of Lori's Life will be held at noon, Sunday, November 15 at the Carol Edwards Center in Woodinville. Family and friends are invited to come and share their memories of Lori.
