Marion Swenson Obituary

Marion E. SWENSON Marion E. Swenson passed away New Year's Eve, December 31, 2011 at the age of 97 with her daughterat her side in Shoreline, WA. Shewas the loving and cherished "Momma" of Deborah E. Swenson of Shoreline. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Norman W. Swenson and brother, Daniel B. Sweeney (5/2011). She was the loving Aunt of Daniel B. Sweeney (Pam) of Woodinville, WA, Wayne C. Sweeney (Annie) of Cromwell, CT., Carol Johnson (Curt) Camano Island, and adoptive mother to Pamela K. Young (Roger) Seattle. She was the loving Aunt to Heather Johnson (Chris), Jennifer Arbibola (Dele), Holly Smith (Jeff) and Jeffrey Sweeney (Christina). She was great Aunt to Derek, Sade, Ayodele, Kayode, Carter, Sadie, Aaron and Teagan, all of Washington. Marion was born in Providence, RI to Daniel B. Sweeney and Elizabeth E. Schinowsky Sweeney. She married her loving husband Norman in 1941, moving to Shoreline in 1958. Marion shared the love of travelling, motor homing throughout the U.S. In her later years, she traveled with her daughter and dearest and late friend Pearl Cardwell to England, and her ancestral home of Ireland. She traveled the Caribbean and Panama Canal with family. She was a Lifetime and 50 year member of the Order of Eastern Star (Richmond and Analia chapters) and Past Matron in 1969. She is a member of the Daughters of the Nile. She is a retired JC Penney associate. Her daughter and family wish to thank her dear friends and neighbors for their love, prayers and support, the Providence Hospice Team and the wonderful staff at Richmond Beach Rehab. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Richmond Beach Rehab Activity Fund 19235 15th Ave. NW, Shoreline, WA 98177, or Pasado's Safe Haven Animal Sanctuary PO Box 171 Sultan, WA 98294. Memorial service is planned for January 25, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at the Nile Center 6601 244th St. SW, Mount Lake Terrace, WA 98043. "Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted" Matthew 5:4.

Laurie Kidd and her mother, Betty Smith send their thoughts and prayers to Deborah and family.
We knew Marion since 1959 and will always remember her kindness and caring.
We enjoyed all our years in Rainbow with Deborah and Marion.
Maion was a hard worker and loved her family more than anything.
She will be missed by every life she touched.
