Marion Jones Obituary
Marion "Matt" Matthew Jones, 97, of Shoreline, WA, passed away January 5, 2018. He was born June 8, 1920 in Florida where he lived until joining the U.S. Navy during WWII. After meeting his life's love at the USO in Seattle, Matt married Naomi Hinterberger on May 18, 1946 and enjoyed life together until her passing on December 14, 2009.
Matt spent most of his life in Seattle/ Shoreline, working as a contracting carpenter, ending his career as an instructor of carpentry. Matt was a true fisherman at heart, fishing Puget Sound for almost seventy years.
Matt is survived by his two sons Timothy and Nancy Jones of Cataldo, Idaho, Gary and Maureen Jones of Shoreline, WA; his son-in-law John Gehrke of Anacortes, WA; three grandsons Elliot Duda, Paul and Matthew Dionne; one great-grandson Orion Dionne. Matt was preceded in death by one daughter Nancy Gehrke and his wife Naomi.
A Celebration of Matt's Life will be
held on Saturday, March 17, 2018 from 2:00 P.M. - 5:00 P.M. at the
Edmonds Senior Center,
220 Railroad Ave., Edmonds, WA
