Milton Fiamengo Obituary

Milton G. Fiamengo

October 12, 1928 ~ December 14, 2013

"Milt" was born "Michael" in Bellingham, WA on October 12, 1928. Called "Sonny" by family and friends, Milt grew up in Renton and was a proud 1946 graduate of Renton High School. After high school, Milt joined the United States Coast Guard and was stationed in California and Alaska. Milt met his sweetheart Patti in 1947 and they were married in 1950. Milt and Patti had two children, Peter and Pam. The family lived first in Ballard and then settled in Shoreline where Milt lived the remainder of his life. Milt had a long career as a meat cutter in the Seattle area, working for Albertson's, Red Apple, and retiring from QFC. In his later years Milt traveled to see family in Croatia and Australia, enjoyed spending time with his family, and watching as many Mariner and Seahawks games as possible. Milt is preceded in death by his parents Rena Plancich Yeazle and Peter Fiamengo, brother Nicholas Fiamengo, and beloved wife Patricia "Patti" Fiamengo. He is survived by his sisters, Geraldine McLendon (Ted) and Carol Ann Hughes (David); children Peter Fiamengo and Pam Dellino (Frank); seven grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and many other family members. Milt was a people person and a gentlemen, always ready with a smile and a pleasant word or compliment for everyone he met. He was loved by so many and will be greatly missed by all.

Funeral Mass will be held at St. Luke's Church in Shoreline on December 18th, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. There will be a private internment at Tahoma National Cemetery at a later date.

I miss Dad very much. Watching a Mariners game from now on without his insights will be sorely missed. But I have so many wonderful memories that will keep me going for the rest of my life. I am proud to be your son, dad.

When I heard the news, the first thought that came to mind was the memory of being introduced to the famous Grandpa Milt and Grandma Patti. Together they stood sparkling with their own bond of love, light and happiness for their family. I remember that both of their smiles encompassed everyone around them. So, in this moment of sadness, I am picturing them that way again, together now.
Deepest condolences.

I will miss receiving letters from my penpal. Looking through his letters from the past several years, in every one he told me "I love you" and "You are special." I will miss you, Grandpa Milt! I cherish each and every one of your letters...

I will miss my Grandpa Milt's smile, sense of humor, the way he would read the paper from cover to cover and knew everything, his stories about when he was "going together" with my Grandma Patti, the way he told me I was beautiful and that he loved me each and every time I saw him, and his hugs. He was the best man you could ever have known. I feel fortunate to have been his first grandchild. It is undeniable that he brought a very special light into to this world that will be missing. Love you, Gpa. Thank you for everything!

I will miss my dad's ready smile, hugs, and positive attitude. He was so loving, kind and caring. I am very proud to have had the good fortune to be his daughter.
Thank you for everything, Dad!
