Murray Cumming Obituary
Murray E. Cumming passed away February 26th, 2014. He was born November 14, 1929 to Forest and Mary Cumming in Philipsburg, Montana. His family soon moved to Drummond, Montana where he was raised with his older brother Tony. He graduated from Drummond High School in 1948. He married Ann Johnson. He attended the University of Montana for two years then joined the navy, spending two years at the Supply Depot in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. His son, Jim, was born in Honolulu. His next duty station was Pier 91 in Seattle. His daughter, Carol Ann, was born in Seattle. After leaving the navy, he spent 36 years at Safeco Insurance Company, also attending college in the evening, earning his degree in business.
Murray's favorite things in life were his family, hot Arizona days, all sports, especially golf, not to mention the five times he had a "hole in one"
Murray is survived by his wife of 65 years, son Jim (Patty), daughter Carol (David) and grandsons, Erick and Ryan, his brother, Tony, (Arlene) and several nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held on Friday 3/14 at Calvin Presbyterian Church, 18826 3rd Ave. N. W., Shoreline, WA. 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Calvin Presbyterian Church or an organization of your choice.
