Norman Thomassen Obituary
June 29, 1930- December 17, 2017
Our beloved Norman passed away peacefully at Swedish Hospital surrounded in love by his family after a brief and sudden illness. Born and raised in Port Angeles, Washington. Graduated from Roosevelt H.S. and attended Western Washington University. Served in the US Air Force. Owned and operated Fleet Leasing Co. in Bellevue, WA until he retired at age 50. He loved his home on Lake Washington, the many adventures on his Crisscraft "The Fortuna", the Model T Ford he rebuilt from a pile of rust, and most of all his family and friends. He was a gentle and kind man who always was there to help anyone that needed a hand. He was a wonderful and devoted father, grandfather and Uncle.
Preceded in death by his beloved wife, Joelle; his parents Jens and Olga Thomassen and siblings Bjarne, Thelma and Tulla. He leaves behind daughter Cheryl Behrens (Bob); son Scott (Heidi); grandchildren Katie, Hailey, Sara and Aaron; sister-n-laws MaryLee Marshall and Pat Towle and many nieces and nephews.
He will be deeply and profoundly missed.
Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, January 21 at 3:00 at Lake Forest Park Presbyterian Church with reception to follow at FloAnna's Diner.
Donations can be made to Providence Hospice, Alzheimer's Association or your favorite charity.

Riviera PL NE.... that was the address we shared... and our kids were of similar ages, attended the same schools and enjoyed the the water skiing and other activities that go with living on the lake. It was a lot of fun. My kids repeatedly told me what a "cool dad" Norm was. But there comes a time for all of us when we must face our own mortality and the time has come for Norm.
If there is a "hereafter", you may be comforted with the thought that Norm has been reunited with your mother Joel. I know how he must have missed her in the intervening years.
Regrettably (due to old age and a /fractured back) I am unable to attend the services for Norm. But know that my thoughts are with you as you remember the "Great Dad" that he was....

For many years we lived on the same street with kids at the same ages, etc. who shared their love of water skiing and all the fun that goes with living on the lake. My kids repeatedly remarked on what a "cool dad" Norm was. Today my thoughts go back to those good old days when we were all younger and enjoying life to the fullest. But the time comes for all of us when we must face out own mortality and the time has come for Norm. If there is a "hereafter" you must be comforted that he has been reunited with Joell and they are watching over you... that's what parents do...
Regrettably, due to a old age and a fractured back, I will not be able to attend the service for Norm. but know that my thoughts are with you. I know how much you will miss him. He absolutely was a Great Dad.... My most sincere condolences....
