Olin Darling Obituary
Olin was born in Michigan on March 17, 1939 and passed away at home on October 14, 2015. He graduated from Rochester High School, Centralia Junior College and received his degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Univ. of Washington in 1963. He had positions in various industries, ending with Boeing, from which he retired in 2000. Olin enjoyed cars, gardening, photography and travel. He is survived by his wife Cindy, daughter Carolyn Gaylor (Doug), granddaughters Katie and Laura, sister Linda Whipple (Terry) and brother Bob (Susan).
Services will be held Friday Oct. 23 at 11:00 AM at Calvin Presbyterian Church in Shoreline.

Cindy--my deep sympathies to you, Carolyn, and your grandchildren--I am so sorry that I didn't know that Pat had passed away until this morning. Cindy, i know that you and Pat had wonderful 50 years together-and, I know that you and Pat had an interesting and fun-filled retirement.

I was fondly remembering a time in September, 1989. When I was traveling in England by myself and met a family traveling on holiday too. I believe you folks were the family. I was a great time. You helped me break into my suitcase by sawing off my lock with a hacksaw blade. But the lock did not go easily. I was pretty funny. I was sorry to find that Olin just passed away. You have my deepest sympathies. My God be with you and your family at this difficult time.

Olin was a friend since grade school. I enjoyed his sense of humor, intelligence, and always his willingness to help. Whether it was on our high school sports teams, later during the military, or married with children, we could count on Olin. He is missed.

Olin was a friend and neighbor for almost 30 years. We will miss his intelligence, love of travel, photography, gardening and family. Most of all, he was a good man.
