Patricia Vegsund Obituary
Patricia Jean Stone Vegsund, 82, of Edmonds WA passed away on October 3, 2017, surrounded by her family. Pat was born on January 9, 1935 in Kansas City, MO to Cecil and Levona Crowley. She grew up with two younger brothers and moved with her family to Seattle WA during WWII when her dad was hired as a welder at Todd Shipyards.
Pat was luckier than most in love by meeting and marrying in succession two Ballard boys and celebrating 30 year wedding anniversaries with each. She met Ivan S. Stone, Jr. when they were both in their teens. Married April 10, 1954 they raised five children together and moved from Shoreline to a new home in Edmonds in 1964. Ivan passed away from cancer in 1984. She honored her deceased husband and father of her children by wanting to love and be loved again. She met Ken Vegsund through a Parents Without Partners dance. They both enjoyed dancing, traveling and playing cards with friends and family. They married June 19, 1987 and just celebrated their 30th anniversary.
Pat was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, and her first husband, Ivan. She is survived by her husband, Ken Vegsund, her brother Larry (Sharon) Crowley of Edmonds, her children Melody (Tom) Scherting of Issaquah, Daniel (Susan) Stone of Mukilteo, David (Sheri) Stone of Goldbar, Dana Stone of Edmonds and Donald (Lisa) Stone of Wenatchee, her step-daughters Colleen (Steve) Hultin of Poulsbo, Nancy (David) Yount of Anacortes and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Alderwood Community Church, 3403 Alderwood Mall Blvd., Lynnwood WA 98036 on Sat., Oct. 28, 2017 at 10:00 a.m.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, a memorial donation be made to the Polycystic Kidney Foundation, https://pkdcure.org/
