Priscilla Jue Obituary
Priscilla Chong Jue, who enjoyed a long and happy life, left this world peacefully on June 27, 2012. She is survived by sons Bruce (Lynne) Chong of Lake Havasu, AZ, Fay (Edie) Chong, Jr. of Cupertino, CA, daughter Carol Hamelberg of Huntington Beach, CA, 10 grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren. Priscilla was a kind, energetic, and cheerful person with a great sense of humor. A committed mother and wife to the late Fay Chong and the late Willard Jue, she was a textile designer (block prints, tie dye, weaving, batik), a volunteer and contributor to charity organizations (Wing Luke Art Museum, University Baptist Church), and a proprietor of small import shops (Puyallup Fair, Seattle Worlds Fair). Her interests included designing and constructing parade floats and costumes (University Seafair Kiddies Parade), ice skating, and Hawaiian Dance. There will be a small service at Cristwood Nursing, Shoreline, WA, on July 22, 2012 at 2:00 PM. Contributions in lieu of flowers can be made to the University Baptist Church, 4731 15th Ave. N.E., Seattle WA 98105 or to the Wing Luke Museum. An online guest book will be available at Washelli.com.

Charles Z. Smith and Elie Smith were honored to know Priscilla when she served on the Board of the James W. Washington and Janie Rogella Washington Foundation. She was a good friend of the Washingtons and supported his art activities enthusiastically.

Priscilla was one of my guiding lights in how to grow old with grace and style. I will never for get her dancing at UBC talent shows when she was well into her 80's!

My condolences to the family. I worked for Priscilla at her import shop (Imports Internationale) during the World's Fair and knew her in my entire Chinese community life in Seattle. Here's to a lady of true grace and one who will be remembered...and may she rest in peace. Jacquie

Priscilla was indeed a lovely woman filled with joy and contentment. I will remember her positive attitude, even as she faced the pain of loss and the physical problems of old age. I smile as I remember her inner and outer grace and beauty, and I share my condolences with all who will miss her presence on this earth.

Priscilla was a vibrant and delightful woman. I recall her doing a hula dance for her 90th birthday! She left this world a better place for having journey here among us.
