Rosamond MILLER Obituary

Rosamond Earhart MILLER Born September 14, 1922 in Stuttgart, Arkansas; passed away peacefully July 19, 2011 in Seattle, WA. After growing up in Stuttgart, she and her family moved to Illinois. Later, she met Dale, the one true love of her life, during WWII. They married in 1946 and made Seattle their home. Through the years she maintained a passion and zest for life that allowed her to excel at everything she did. She managed a jewelry store when she was only 19 years old. She became an incredible mother in 1953. She joined the Latimer Sword Chapter of the American Cancer Society in the 1960's. By the early 1970's she lent her considerable grace and charm to Seattle Mayor Wes Uhlman's successful effort in establishing the first sister city relationship between the Soviet Union and an American City. She gained her real estate license in 1975 and went on to become a top sales associate as well as condominium sales consultant to the State of Washington. She and Dale loved to travel the world and left a bit of happiness wherever they went. Rosamond's life can be best measured by the things she showed us every day, immense warmth, integrity and generosity. Rosamond was the loving mother of Keith Miller; and was preceded in death in 2006 by J. Dale Miller, her loving husband of almost 60 years. Funeral Mass will be celebrated Wednesday, July 27th, at 11 AM at St. Mark Catholic Church, 18033 15th Pl. NE, Shoreline, 98155. Entombment, Holyrood Cemetery. Dear Keith,

I was so saddened to learn of your Mother's passing. She was such an amazing woman.

I met your Mother at the Anderson Home and knew her for about 1-1/2 years. She would wait for me in the mornings after breakfast and again in the evening. We had wonderful conversations and I looked forward to seeing her everyday. She called you her "gem" and I loved the stories she would recall about you and your father, sometimes with a tear in her eye. Once, she gathered pictures and we spent some time in the sitting area. She showed me wedding pictures and told me about making her wedding dress with lace your father had brought back from Italy. She was particularly proud of a photo you had reframed of her and your father with a very special look on both of their faces.

May you find peace in all the wonderful memories you must have of both your Mother and Father.

She was thoughtful and graceful in all that she did. I appreciate her willingness to be a God Parent to my son at his Baptism. It was also very nice to see her, and you, at my parents 60th Wedding Anniversary. She will be missed !! If you need anything, please don't hesitate to call.

To Keith & Roz Miller's family: May I send heartfelt sympathy to you at the loss of Roz. I met Roz at Albright Realty when she joined us there. And soon later met Dale with his work as he founded the savings bank Gibraltar" at 3rd.& Blanchard, Seattle. and I attended Dale's funeral at St. Pats Curch. When Roz & Dale invited us & others from "Albright" to the beach place I enjoyed the great hospitality. I won't be able to join you at Roz' funeral, but you are in my thoughts. The best consolation is the beautiful memories of them and I send my sincere condolences.

Keith,
Thank you for the amazing gift of meeting and enjoying some wonderful conversations with your Mom. Her favorite topic was her Son, she just beamed when she spoke of you and your father. What made her such a wonderful and graceful woman, was the love of her favorite men.
Please know that I am always just a call away anytime you need a friend.

Keith, I know how much you love your Mom and the great son you are in taking care of her during these last years. She was a wonderful caring person we all love and will miss. She would spoil me with a fresh crab on Mondays during the summer and fudge brownies in the evening. My Heart goes out to you for your lost.
