Roy Stevens Obituary
1918 ~ 2018
Amazing dad, father-in-law, grandpa and uncle, Roy went to be with the Lord February 17, 2018 at the age of 99.
Roy lived a full life. He was a fly fisherman, outdoor adventurer, poet, writer, musician and singer, and served as Assistant Director of the Norwegian Male Chorus.
A U.S. Navy World War II veteran, Roy graduated from the U.W. with a degree in fisheries biology. He enjoyed a long career with National Marine Fisheries Service of NOAA. After retiring he went into international consulting. He and his wife Jean traveled the world and had rich retirement years together.
Roy is preceded in death by his beloved wife Jean, by daughter Karen (Harter), son-in-law Jeff (Harter) and three grandchildren. He is survived by children Linda (Dan) Stordahl, Don (JoAnne) Stevens, Paula (Howard) Knopf, ten grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
Roy will be remembered as a man of strong faith who loved God, his family and friends and welcomed strangers as well.
A celebration of his life will be held Saturday, March 10th, 2:00 p.m. at Shoreline Covenant Church: 1330 N. 185th St. Shoreline, WA 98133
