Ruth Staab Obituary

Ruth J. Staab

Our dear mom, Ruth J. Staab, passed away peacefully into the arms of God on Thursday, November 28 at age 97. Ruth was born January 14, 1916 in Racine Wisconsin, the eldest of five children. During her senior year of high school the family moved to Seattle where she lived the rest of her life. In 1939 she married Richard C. Staab (1911-2000) and they had three children: Janet (Warren), Judith, and Timothy (Susan). She was the proud Grandma of 7 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind a sister, Doris (Donald) Olson of Arizona.

Ruth was secretary for the Shoreline School District for many years; her giving and serving attitude toward others has been a wonderful example to younger generations. An inventive, productive homemaker, she came up with delicious meals on a shoestring, and regularly invited family and friends for social gatherings. In their retirement Ruth and Dick enjoyed traveling throughout the United States in their mobile home; they also visited relatives in Brazil and Canada; and she traveled to Europe twice in later years.

She was a life-long Lutheran. A memorial service will be held at St. Timothy Lutheran Church, 5124 164th St SW in Edmonds on Monday, December 9 at 2pm.
