Saul Shapiro Obituary

Saul SHAPIRO Born in Battle Creek, Michigan April 3, 1917 and a resident of the Seattle/Bellevue area for over 65 years, Saul passed quietly Sunday, November 6, 2011 at the Kline Galland Home with his daughter, Cheri, at his side after losing his battle with Alzheimer's. He was preceded in death by his loving wife Yetta and his beloved son Gary. He is survived by his son Ed and daughter-in-law Becky Shapiro of Murrells Inlet, South Carolina, his daughter Cheri and son-in-law Michael Levy of Bellevue, and his daughter-in-law Raquel Shapiro of Newcastle; his adored Grandchildren, Daniel, Elan (Emily), Samuel (Leah), Benjamin (Meredith), Rebecca, Sarah (Chris) and Alexis (Joe); and Great Grandchildren Eric and Zahava. After serving in the Army Air Corps, Saul worked in the scrap metal business for over 40 years. A businessman, an entrepreneur, an investor, a risk taker: Saul was the type of hard working individual that makes America great. He was a fighter who held onto life as long as possible. He will be lovingly remembered and missed by all of his family and friends. Services will be held at Herzl Memorial Park, 165th & Dayton Ave. North in Shoreline on Tuesday, November 8th at 1:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer's Association, Herzl-Ner Tamid Conservative Congregation or your favorite charity.
